FIRS Staff Celebrate Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, Over Enhanced Welfare Package

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji was recently celebrated by staff members for his numerous welfare packages.

The staff, who had gathered at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, expressed their gratitude for the uncommon welfare packages they have enjoyed since Adedeji assumed office over a year ago.

The celebration, which took place on Thursday, saw staff members carrying placards with appreciative inscriptions, singing songs, dancing, and engaging in a form of gyration.

The Chairman arrived to a jubilant crowd, and others who had stayed under the shed for protection against the Abuja sun joined in leading him to his office.

According to a statement by Sikiru Akinola, Technical Assistant (Print Media) to Adedeji, the staff members praised Adedeji for his staff welfare-minded administration.

They were particularly happy about the increment in salary, which was described as unprecedented.

One staff member noted that Adedeji is always concerned and mindful of those around him and people whose paths have crossed with him.

“He is our boss and our friend. We all can attest to that. So for us, we decided to gather today to appreciate him,” the staff member said.

Another staff member praised Adedeji for increasing staff salary and other welfare packages without prior briefing.

“He believes that those who help in making sure the audacious target of N19.4 trillion for 2024 is met should also be properly treated to motivate them,” the staff member said.

In their remarks, most staff members agreed that no Executive Chairman of the agency had been so celebrated like Adedeji in just a year and four months of his stewardship. His magnanimity to staff has been awesome and unprecedented.

Adedeji accepted the cheers by saluting the jubilant crowd, waving his hands to show his gratitude. The celebration was a testament to the positive impact Adedeji has had on the staff and the agency as a whole.

It’s worth noting that the welfare packages extended to FIRS staff are not limited to salary increments. According to a study on the effect of welfare packages on workers’ performance in the federal civil service, welfare packages exist in FIRS and employees attest to their importance.

The celebration of Adedeji by FIRS staff is a clear indication of his commitment to staff welfare and his impact on the agency.

His leadership style and approach to staff issues have been praised by staff members, who appreciate his efforts to motivate and support them.
