The National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Chief Tochukwu Emmanuel Ezisi, has been honoured with the Maritime Correspondents’ Organisation of Nigeria (MARCON) Freight Forwarder of the Year Award and invested as a Patron of the association.
The honours were conferred at the 2026 MARCON Annual Conference held on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where maritime stakeholders gathered to discuss the theme, “Special Economic Zones as Catalysts to Sustainable Blue Economy.”
Speaking during the investiture ceremony, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, Paul Ogbuokiri, said Ezisi was recognised for his leadership, commitment to the freight forwarding profession and support for initiatives aimed at promoting professionalism and sustainable development in the maritime sector.
Ogbuokiri said Ezisi, who is also the Managing Director of Emmatoks Agencies Limited, has contributed significantly to trade facilitation, capacity development and reforms designed to improve efficiency across Nigeria’s ports and logistics value chain.
He noted that the Freight Forwarder of the Year Award is presented to individuals whose leadership, innovation and dedication have made notable contributions to the freight forwarding profession and Nigeria’s maritime economy.
Ezisi was represented at the event by the National Secretary of NAGAFF, Geoffrey Nwosu, who reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen freight forwarding practice, enhance stakeholder collaboration and improve the competitiveness of Nigeria’s maritime industry.
The conference attracted government officials, regulators, port managers, freight forwarders and other maritime professionals who examined strategies for using Special Economic Zones and efficient port infrastructure to boost investment, trade, industrialisation and the growth of Nigeria’s blue economy.
