Lagos Govt, Ecobank Partner to Build Modern, Sustainable City

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has praised the Ecobank Design & Build initiative, saying it aligns with the state’s vision to create a modern, livable, and sustainable Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by Bukola Agbaminoja, CEO of the Lagos State Film & Video Censors Board, commended Ecobank for hosting a successful event that showcases environmentally friendly and resilient solutions for urban growth.

The Governor urged financiers to view infrastructure and housing as viable projects with long-term social and economic value.

He also challenged architects, builders, and engineers to innovate, minimize environmental impact, and ensure inclusivity for all.

Mobolaji Adeniyi, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), applauded Ecobank’s contribution to the industry, highlighting the NIA’s collaboration with private sector players to deliver quality designs and sustainable projects.

The second edition of the Ecobank Design & Build Expo attracted over 60 top-tier exhibitors, government officials, academics, industry professionals, and students.

The event featured interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and insights into global trends.

The Expo included expert-led sessions with prominent voices in the industry, including Arc. Christian Benimana and Prof.

Taibat Lawanson. Panel discussions featured insights from industry leaders, showcasing innovative designs and sustainable solutions.

The 2025 Ecobank Design & Build Expo has cemented its position as a leading platform for shaping Nigeria’s built environment.

Ecobank’s role as a catalyst for industry transformation remains clear, driving conversations around sustainable design, cultural relevance, and inclusive growth.
