Jagaban Political Group Urges Nigerians To Shun Divisive Politics

Nigerians have been asked to shun religious politics that could truncate the nation’s democracy and hamper development.

The Jagaban political group made the appeal over the weekend in a statement signed by one of its coordinators, Bukky Olajide.

The Group maintained that the candidacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and kashim shetima should not be seen as an affront against Christianity but rather “a formidable team that would help to salvage the nation from doldrums.”

The group implored Nigerians to see themselves as an entity and join hands with the All Progressives Congress (APC) towards electing credible leaders in 2023.

“This team is made up of experienced administrators that have excelled during their days as governors of Lagos and Bornu respectively.

“The choice of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and kashim Shetima as both the presidential and vice-presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC is a blessing to the nation”. The statement read.

The group which described Tinubu as ‘a philanthropist who has helped many Nigerians to achieve their dreams and aspirations irrespective of religion or tribal affiliation’ urged Nigerians not to listen to those they referred to as “enemies of the nation bent on dividing the country through religion as the country belong to all of us.”

According to the group religion needs to be seen as a unifying factor that will engender good governance, transparency and peaceful coexistence in the interest of Nigerians

While appealing to Nigerians to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the forthcoming general elections, the group advised Nigerians to de-emphasise the issue of religion during the election as it would not do the nation any good but cause confusion and disharmony.
