YALI Network Nigeria Appoints The Mirror Newspaper as Media Partner

Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network Nigeria has appointed The Mirror Newspaper as its official media partner in Nigeria to strengthen youth engagement, leadership development and strategic communication.

The partnership was announced during a courtesy visit by officials of YALI Network Nigeria to the corporate office of the newspaper, where both organisations explored areas of collaboration aimed at promoting youth-driven initiatives and national development.

Speaking during the visit, the Coordinator of YALI Network Nigeria, Rahbihat Rabiu, described the partnership as strategic, citing the newspaper’s growing influence and commitment to objective journalism and national development.

Rabiu said the collaboration would help amplify the activities of the YALI Network, highlight the achievements of young Nigerian leaders and increase awareness of opportunities available to youths across the country.

She noted that the media plays a critical role in shaping public narratives and empowering young people, adding that partnering credible media organisations would further strengthen the visibility and impact of YALI programmes in Nigeria.

Also speaking, Deputy Coordinator of YALI Network Lagos, Adeyemi Oluwabunmi, said the partnership would help bridge the information gap between youth-focused programmes and the wider public.

According to him, the collaboration will provide a platform for young leaders and innovators to share their success stories and contributions to national development.

Responding, the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Mirror Newspaper, Stanley Ihedigbo, expressed appreciation to YALI Network Nigeria for the appointment and pledged the organisation’s support for youth empowerment initiatives.

Ihedigbo said the newspaper would leverage its platforms to promote youth-focused programmes, leadership initiatives and development activities undertaken by YALI Network members nationwide.

The partnership will also cover media support for youth programmes, leadership campaigns, capacity-building initiatives and public awareness projects.

YALI, a programme of the United States Government, was established to support and develop the next generation of African leaders through leadership training, mentorship and networking opportunities across the continent.
