The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration on national security.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, emphasized the importance of shared facilities and operational cooperation during a courtesy visit by the CDCFIB leadership to Customs Headquarters in Abuja on August 21, 2025.
Adeniyi highlighted ongoing collaborations, including the use of Customs facilities by Immigration and Correctional Services personnel in various locations, such as Ibadan, Kano, and Bauchi.
He stressed that these partnerships demonstrate the strong bond between the agencies, despite structural changes.
The CDCFIB Secretary, Major General AbdulMalik Jibril (rtd), congratulated Adeniyi on his tenure extension and commended his contributions to Nigeria’s economy and security.
Jibril emphasized the need to rekindle and strengthen the relationship between the agencies, citing the importance of synergy in national security.
The visit aimed to deepen collaboration in training, recruitment, and shared operational support, aligning with the federal government’s whole-of-society approach to security management.
Both parties expressed their commitment to working together to enhance national security and promote cooperation between the agencies.
