The MoU, signed on November 14, 2024, during the NCS’s Annual Conference, aims to strengthen collaboration between the two agencies in the fight against fake, substandard, and harmful products.

The Implementation Committee will drive the shared vision of protecting Nigerians from harmful, unregulated substances.

This they hope to achieve by : developing a Joint work plan, harmonizing operational standards, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective enforcement, monitoring and evaluation among other actions.

CGC Adeniyi reaffirmed the NCS’s commitment to the collaboration, emphasizing that the Implementation Committee represents a critical step in realizing the spirit and letter of the agreement.

Prof. Adeyeye echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of regulatory cooperation in ridding the country of fake and harmful products.

The committee’s work is expected to provide measurable outcomes that benefit public health and national security.

With the Terms of Reference already developed, the committee is poised to make a significant impact in protecting the health and safety of Nigerians.
