The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has demonstrated its thought leadership in public communication and institutional branding at the 26th Annual Conference of the African Public Relations Association (APRA) in Kenya.
The conference, themed “Transforming Africa through Safe and Responsible Digital Communication,” brought together over 500 delegates, including communication scholars, corporate leaders, and government representatives.
The NCS’ National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller Abdullahi Maiwada, represented the service at the event and delivered a presentation on “Leveraging Data Analytics for Effective Public Relations Practice in the Nigeria Customs Service.”
Maiwada emphasized the importance of harnessing data to build trust, enhance transparency, and communicate reforms with precision.
The conference also provided a platform for Nigeria to showcase its preparedness to host APRA 2026.
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to deliver a world-class summit next year.
The conference highlighted the importance of data-driven public relations, strategic communication, and digital engagement in transforming Africa’s communication landscape.
