The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has emerged as the overall winner and third-place winner at the 2025 Federal Public Service Innovation Competition.
The competition, which saw 155 entries from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), was held in Abuja on April 29.
The NDIC’s Carpooling Team won first place with a digital carpooling application that acts as a rideshare platform, aimed at reducing commuting costs for federal workers. The team received a prize of N5 million.

Another NDIC team, which developed a digital platform called Perfoma, came in third place, winning N3 million.
Perfoma is designed to enhance staff productivity and streamline administrative processes, facilitating the creation and tracking of documents, as well as measuring staff performance.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, commended participating agencies for aligning with the federal government’s vision for a dynamic and efficient public service.

She emphasized that innovation is one of the key pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025.
The Managing Director/CE NDIC, Bello Hassan, lauded the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation for sustaining the innovation tradition.
He commended the NDIC’s teams for their groundbreaking achievements, underlining the Corporation’s commitment to excellence, problem-solving, and a forward-thinking approach to public service delivery.

The NDIC’s success in the competition reflects its strategic alignment with national priorities on public service reform, digital transformation, and cost-effective governance.
In a statement signed by Head, Communication & Public Affairs, Hawwau Gambo, the Corporation reiterated its committment to supporting and scaling solutions that improve service delivery across the civil service and contribute meaningfully to national development.
