NIWA Set to Hold 2025 Management Retreat, Focuses on KPI Review, Revenue Targets

National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has announced that it will hold its 2025 Annual Management Retreat on February 7th and 8th, 2025, at the Conference Hall in Lokoja.

The retreat, which will be hosted by the Managing Director/CEO of NIWA, Bola Oyebamiji, will have the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, as the Special Guest of Honour.

According to a statement signed by Suleiman Makama, Assistant General Manager (Corporate Affairs), the retreat will focus on reviewing the agency’s 2024 Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and setting revenue targets for 2025. Other topics to be discussed include organizational effectiveness and communication.

The objective of the retreat is to discuss and have a working template upon which the aspirations of the President on Inland Waterways through the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy will be achieved. This year’s retreat will have the Management and all Area Managers in attendance.

During the 2024 Performance Bond signing retreat, the MD of NIWA, Bola Oyebamiji, emphasized the importance of having a working template to achieve the President’s aspirations on Inland Waterways.

He also stressed the need for management staff to sign a performance bond, promising to deliver on their mandates and cascade down to every member of the Authority.

The 2025 Management Retreat is expected to be a crucial step in achieving the agency’s goals and objectives.

With the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy in attendance, the retreat is likely to yield significant outcomes that will impact the development of inland waterways in Nigeria.

As NIWA continues to work towards achieving its mandate, the agency remains committed to promoting the development of inland waterways in Nigeria.
