Manufacturing in Nigeria: MAN Collaborates with Federal Government and Key Stakeholders for Exclusive Summit

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) is set to host a closed-door Manufacturers Summit in collaboration with the Federal Government, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies from June 4th to 6th, 2024, at the Banquet/Conference Hall, State House, Abuja.

This exclusive summit, which is strictly by invitation, is organized in partnership with the Presidency, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, and EY.

According to a statement signed by Segun Ajayi-Kadir, Director General of MAN, the three-day summit with the theme “Rethinking Manufacturing” aims to address the challenges facing the manufacturing sector in Nigeria and explore innovative strategies to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability.

The summit will be graced by President Bola Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour during the opening ceremony, with Vice President Kashim Shettima overseeing the afternoon session.

Key highlights of the summit include focus group discussions, presentations on emerging trends in manufacturing, exhibition of made-in-Nigeria products, networking opportunities, and showcasing of innovative solutions in the Nigerian manufacturing sector.

The focus group technical session will bring together government officials, industry leaders, experts, academia, and trade institutions to discuss key pillars such as promoting growth, enhancing energy security, improving the macroeconomic environment, boosting local content development, and leveraging regional trade for export development.

The summit will also delve into discussions on creating a conducive business environment, ensuring security, increasing agricultural production, and strengthening supply chain resilience through technology.

The ultimate goal of the summit is to reach a consensus with the Federal Government on the strategic roadmap for the growth of the manufacturing sector in Nigeria, addressing challenges, and achieving sustainable development.

The presence of the Presidency at the summit demonstrates the government’s commitment to revitalizing the manufacturing sector.

Manufacturers are hopeful that the discussions will provide valuable insights, policy direction, and practical solutions to overcome constraints and drive growth in the sector.
