Dangote Cement Records 87.2% Surge in Clinker Exports

Dangote Cement has announced a remarkable 87.2 percent increase in its clinker and cement exports during the first quarter of 2024.

In this period, the company shipped seven vessels of clinker from Nigeria to Ghana and Cameroon, totaling 264kt.

Meanwhile, local demand for cement in Nigeria spiked by 26.1% to 4.6Mt, with the overall group volume rising by 12.3% to 7.0Mt.

Additionally, Dangote Cement successfully commissioned 10 out of the 17 Alternative Fuel Projects across the Group.

Arvind Pathak, the CEO of Dangote Cement, highlighted the company’s focus on exports, with Nigerian exports experiencing an impressive 87.2% growth.

He emphasized the commitment to expanding presence in regional markets and leveraging the export-to-import strategy.

The company reported a Group revenue of N817.4 billion, with profit after tax increasing by 2.9% to N112.7 billion. Earnings per share also saw a 3.7% increase.
