The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) says it is aware of a video circulating with allegations by unidentified individuals against the DG of NIMASA regarding an alleged N1.5 Trillion and Nine Million Dollars payment into the personal account of the NIMASA Chief Executive.
In a statement, the Agency said there is no truth to the allegations as the social media post was previously circulated over three years ago in 2021.
“It is important to note that in 2021, when these allegations were first circulated, the NIMASA DG personally requested the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate.
“ In a petition he signed and dated May 24th, 2021, Dr. Jamoh expressed that the viral story had tarnished his integrity, character, and family name.” The statement read.
According to NIMASA, the re-circulation of the 2021 video is the work of troublemakers who are intent on misinforming the public for reasons known only to them and their backers.
The Agency urged the public to disregard the contents of this misleading social media post.
