Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, CFA, is set to deliver the keynote address at DataPro’s 6th International Rating Webinar.
The webinar, scheduled to focus on Nigeria’s prospects of attaining an investment-grade credit rating, will have Uzoka-Anite speaking on “Achieving Investment Grade Rating by 2030: The Roadmap for Nigeria.”
According to DataPro, the minister will examine the policy, institutional and economic reforms required to strengthen Nigeria’s sovereign credit profile and improve investor confidence.
Uzoka-Anite, an economist and public policy professional, previously served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment and later as Minister of State for Finance.
The webinar will also feature experts from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and leading academic institutions.
Speakers include Oluwakemi Babalogbon, Executive Director, Risk Management, MOFI; Dr Misheck Mutize, Lead Expert, Credit Rating Agencies, APRM; Dr Daniel Cash, Founder, Credit Rating Research Initiative; Prof Kai Gehring, Professor of Political Economy, University of Bern; and Prof Dr Torsten Schmidt, Head of Macroeconomics and Public Finance Research at RWI-Essen.
DataPro said the event would provide insights into sovereign credibility, institutional governance, macroeconomic policy and the reforms needed to strengthen Africa’s economic trajectory.
The webinar will also examine fiscal management and public-sector reforms considered necessary to support Nigeria’s ambition of building a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
