President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a one-year extension for the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, whose tenure was set to expire on August 31, 2025.
The extension aims to enable Adeniyi to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives of the administration.
The extension will allow Adeniyi to drive the modernization of the Nigeria Customs Service, implement the National Single Window Project, and ensure Nigeria’s effective execution of its obligations under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) protocol, promoting regional trade and economic integration.
President Tinubu recognizes Adeniyi’s steadfast leadership and commitment to service, expressing confidence that the extension will further strengthen the Nigeria Customs Service in achieving its strategic mandate of trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security.
